PichiAvo's artwork Unkown Hand With Spear Diaspasis is a unique piece made with spray paint, acrylic, and oil on plasterboard in 2023.

The central element of the work is a hand, in full classical style, holding a spear. The work is part of the Diaspasis series, in Greek separation; these works evoke the fragments of a wall on which a larger anthropomorphic subject was depicted, only the remains of which can now be seen.

In their works PichiAvo use to combine graffiti and classical art, drawing inspiration from the Valencia cityscape and the Greco-Roman artifacts they encounter in their travels. PichiAvo street artists call their style "Urban Mythology," precisely to explain the original combination of urban and ancient art.

Unknown Hand With Spear Diaspasis was executed by PichiAvo artists using an innovative technique that straddles the line between painting and sculpture. The artists, known worldwide for their murals, bring the materiality of outdoor works inside the gallery with their Diaspasis series, painting figures and details on plasterboard boards that are then broken up, leaving the corners uneven. The effect these works restore is that of archaeological finds, fragments of a single drawing found and again separated in the halls of distant museums.
