The work of the PichiAvo Cupid Diaspasis B is a unique piece made with spray paint, acrylic and oil on plasterboard in 2023. 

The work is part of the series Diaspasis, in Greek separation; these works evoke fragments of a wall on which a larger anthropomorphic subject was depicted, of which only the remains can now be seen. In this case it is possible to see Cupid, the Roman god of love and desire, half-cocked wearing the quiver. Cupid Diaspasis B was part of a larger plasterboard panel, painted and then broken by artists to go on to create more autonomous artwork. By placing it next to Cupid Diaspasis A you will notice a continuity in the design. 

Cupid Diaspasis B was executed by PichiAvo artists with an innovative technique, called Diaspasis, which is placed between painting and sculpture. The artists, famous all over the world for their murals, with the series Diaspasis bring inside the gallery the materiality of the outdoor works, painting figures and details on plasterboard boards that are then broken, leaving the irregular corners. The effect of these works is that of archaeological finds, fragments of a single design found and again separated in the halls of distant museums.

For the subjects of their works PichiAvo are inspired by Greek and Roman statues that have seen and photographed during their travels around the world. These sculptures are reinterpreted and redesigned thanks to their iconic style that combines classical art and graffiti, with tags on the background and bright and intense colors. In this work the palette is in shades of pink and blue.

Cupid Diaspasis B measures 124 x 120 cm and weighs 20 kg.
