After buying the vase from an antique dealer, the street artist Solomostry depicted drawings reminiscent of cave writings.
In VasoKhmer 02 the Milanese artist draws the monstrous creatures characteristic of his works. Solomostry wants to reflect on the sign that humanity has left throughout history, on the passage of time and on stratification.
The nocturnal figures and in particular their iconic eyes are the most recurring subjects in Solomostry’s repertoire. The world of Milanese techno discos in which the urban artist has been trained since 2007 is a source of inspiration for his works.

The artist Solomostry was born in 1988 in Milan, the city where he began painting his first graffiti around the year 2000. In 2007, he started making sets for some techno clubs in Milan, collaborations that became a real source of inspiration for his works. Solomostry, in fact, usually depicts nocturnal creatures with monstrous features, whose eyes stand out above all. The artist adopts an impactful and easily recognisable style, determined by the strong presence of line, the total absence of chiaroscuro and a garish colour palette. Through a gestural expressiveness that may appear hard at times, Solomostry depicts his nocturnal creatures with a desire to investigate the vast emotional spectrum of the human being, which is often not far removed from that of his monsters.
